Probably no province in Canada, with the
possible exception of British Columbia, has such diverse landscape as
Alberta. From boreal forests in the north, to rugged mountains in the
west, and vast prairies in the east, Alberta is full of surprises. The
dry desert-like badlands from Drumheller eastwards are one such
delight. Here at Dinosaur Provincial Park on the Red Deer River near
Brooks, you can actually see such unusual vegetation as small cacti
growing wild. © 2002 Richard McGuire
