Pangboche, near Mount Everest, Nepal, 1977

Buddhist monasteries like this one at Pangboche are the central focus of some of the villages in the Nepalese highlands. I reached this on near Mount Everest on a return trek that took nearly a month and crossed a number of mountain ranges of this Himalayan country.
