Edmonton Skyline

Edmonton, Alberta's capital, is dominated by the valley of the North Saskatchewan River, which divides the city into north and south sides. The valley forms one of the world's largest continuous urban park areas, and has numerous recreational trails used for cycling, walking, rollerblading, and of course cross-country skiing during Edmonton's seemingly endless winters. The glass pyramids pictured here are the Muttart Conservatory, indoor greenhouses that recreate tropical and other environments. Winter-crazed Edmontonians have been known to visit the Muttart for a cheap escape to the tropics.
