$For 31 years after it was built in the 1970s, the CN Tower was considered the world\'s tallest free-standing structure at 553.3 metres. It is a telecommunications tower with an observation deck and restraurant. The tower dominates Toronto\'s skyline.$

$This flatiron building is found at Wellington, Front and Church streets in an older area east of Toronto\'s downtown core. It was built in 1892, ten years before New York\'s more famous flatiron. Filters, including a Cokin blue-yellow polarizer, were used for effect.$

$Yonge Street has undergone many changes over the years, but it has remained Toronto\'s downtown shopping street. This picture is not an HDR, but rather an exposure taken at 2.5 seconds.$

$Like something out of a horror movie, a giant ant-like creature climbs the walls above Cameron House, a pub on the artsy part of Toronto\'s Queen Street.$

$Many of the buildings along Toronto\'s Queen Street date back to the Victorian era, but our great grandparents wouldn\'t recognize them. Tattoo parlours, ethnic restaurants, pubs and clothing stores makes this an interesting street to walk and browse.$

$The Toronto skyline has grown much taller in recent decades. Dominating the skyline is the CN Tower, built in the 1970s as a communications tower, and now a tourist attraction. At 553 meters (1,815 feet), it\'s the world\'s tallest freestanding structure, though it is debated whether it can properly be classed as the world\'s tallest building. This photo was taken from the ferry boat to the Toronto Islands, an expansive park just a 15-minute boat ride from the downtown.$
