Grand Canyon, Arizona, in winter

Before visiting Grand Canyon, I’d seen many pictures and knew it was big, but until I saw it, I couldn’t imagine how huge it is. The winter day when I visited was very cloudy, but occasionally patches of sunlight broke through and gave a taste of the colours. Even in winter, the southern rim was packed with tourists, but you could usually find solitude by walking a little bit away from the parking areas. Unfortunately, the north rim is closed in winter.
