Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park, Utah

Mesa Arch at Canyonlands National Park in Utah is a popular spot for photographers as sunrise because of the way the sun lights up the underside of the arch. On a cold New Years morning, the valley was filled with thick fog, and for much of the time I was there the view was completely obscured. It cleared, often for only minutes at a time, allowing me to catch a few dramatic shots. HDR
