Fishing Boats, Mary's Harbour, LabradorDigital Photo by Richard McGuire There's now a gravel road paralleling the Labrador coast, though for centuries, until very recently, most of the little out ports along this coast were only accessible by boat. Labrador is the rugged portion of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador that is part of the North American mainland. It's now one of the most remote parts of the continent accessible by car.
