Sunset at Silver Lake, near Perth, OntarioDigital Photo by Richard McGuire The last rays of sun strike a cluster of cattails on Silver Lake near Perth, Ontario. It's spring, and the frozen lake is melting in places. Soon the melting lakes will cause river levels to rise. Often the first mosquitoes appear before the snow is completely melted.
